ICE STORM 2008

In December 2008 just before Christmas, we had an ice storm here in Maine. We only lost power for one hour, others were not so lucky some lost power for days, some even weeks. Enjoy the photos taken in our neighborhood the morning after the storm. The trees were beautiful.

We have Funny Neighbor's

We have a wonderful older couple that live across the street that are great neighbor's. I was outside painting some trim for our new renovation in the hallway and downstairs bathroom, when Marian came over to tell me that Ray thought we needed to weed our corn.

I knew that Shari had just weeded the garden, so I couriously went around the corner of the house to the garden where the corn was located. The first photo shows the raised garden bed where the corn is located. The bottom left photo is what I found when I went to look at the corn.

I was not fooled, but when Shari got home from work, I took her outside and she truely thought the corn had grown over night out of the ground. Just in case you don't get the joke, our neighbor's Ray and Marian put four ears of corn at the base of our corn stocks to make it look like we had corn growing out of the ground.

The next day, Shari went next door to tell them of her reaction to the new addition in our garden, I was not there but I was told that they almost pee'd their pants they were laughing so hard.

They are great people and have been a big help with giving Shari lots of advise about gardening.

Our New Blog

We have started a Blog to keep those we love up to date with Pablo's Family (that would be us). Pablo took us on a vacation in July to visit my parents on Campobello Island, we had a great time relaxing, geocaching and visiting with family.

The weather was much nicer on Campobello Island than it was at home, with all the rain it made for a great retreat and repreave from the rain.
